The Airport

There is a part of the airport experience I really hate: Getting to the gate! This involves  dropping off the checked bag, ticketing and the TSa screening. Blech! Don’t we all hate this?

Today’s experience was strangely pleasant. United Airlines has a clearly marked check in and today there were no lines! The computer screen made sense for a change.

The BEST part was the Pre- TSa entrance!!!!  There was almost No Line!!! I did not have to pull out liquids, did not have to take off shoes or my coat! The officers were so pleasant.

Right outside this experience was the United Club….the oasis with quiet, food,  comfy living room type furniture and lots of bathrooms. They are putting out lunch now…soups & salads.

Maybe I’ll wander on over to the bar after 12:00…..

T’was the Night Before Peru…

Bags packed, technology charged and I am ready to go….I also wish I could take all of my friends with me on this journey to Peru! Magnificent mountains, ocean, lakes and history lie ahead. I will be a different person one week from now!

Not only am I excited to wander to my 4th continent and finally get south of the equator but I am meeting my long time friend, Cindy.  She has been traveling for almost 2 years now and I have not seen her for almost 3 years.

So, I am off to bed and hopefully I will sleep a bit. There is supposed to be a strike with the baggage handlers and ticket agents at Newark Airport so I am leaving earlier that I would ordinarily need.

Randy is dropping me off to the airport shuttle in the morning. He is promising that our redecorating will be done when I return on April 11th. Wouldn’t that be Magnifico!
